On the one hand, Game Pass is losing a beloved man-made dungeon crawler that Says Things About Today’s Existence. But on the other hand, at least it is getting one of the most callous maps games Ubisoft in recent memory (I will give you a guess). Here’s what’s coming to Microsoft’s games-on-demand service in the coming weeks.
2 August
- Game Ghost Recon Wildlands (cloud, console, PC)
August 4
- Turbo Golf Racing (cloud, next-gen console, PC)
August 9
- Two Point Campus (cloud, console, PC)
11 August
- Cooking Simulator (cloud, console, PC)
- Tours: Rome (PC)
- Offworld Trading Company (PC)
And here is the full list as of August 15:
- Dungeon Boy (cloud, console, PC)
- Curse of the Dead Gods (cloud, console, PC)
- The Ruin Library (cloud, console, PC)
- Starmancervia Game Preview (PC)
- Train Sim world 2 (cloud, console, PC)
Dungeon Boynotwithstanding release the rotten, bad faith controversy that defined it last summer, easily one of the most engaging dungeon-crawlers of recent years. Part dating sim, you date with people who can transform into weapons, and use these weapons to fight the physical manifestations of your anxiety in isometric combat. Not only is the combat a blast, but there’s also some sharp dialogue a humorous commentary on the good and bad of today’s speech. It’s a bummer to see him leave.
As well as this month’s big Game Pass, Game Ghost Recon Wildlands, there is … much less to say. Sure, Ubisoft’s co-op shooter sports solid gunplay and an open world that’s surprisingly large, if not exactly vibrant. But it’s a borderline politically terrifying propaganda game that portrays Bolivia as a narcotic superstate run by cocaine-running cartels: You play as a US special forces squad as you swoop in to “save the day “. Ubisoft did such a poor job representing that country Bolivian interior minister he sent a formal letter to the French government and the threat of legal action.
But hey, at least Turbo Golf Racing— a game that basically looks like it Game Rocket League graphing a golf course, and also a game I’m just learning about today – looks great AF.
