Chrissy Teigen pronounces being pregnant: ‘I am hopeful and wonderful’ | Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend are expecting another child almost two years after the couple’s pregnancy loss.

Teigen made the announcement Wednesday on Instagram, where she posted two photos of her baby bump. She wrote that after a miscarriage in 2020, “our home and our hearts are full again” with joy, which she added documented in detail before.

“We have another one on the way,” wrote the 36-year-old model and cookbook author, who shares two children – Luna and Miles – with Legend. In the post, she wrote about her fertility journey, and being too nervous to reveal her pregnancy.

“Every appointment I said to myself, ‘Okay, if he’s healthy today I’ll announce’, but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m still too nervous,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk away from an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m hopeful and great.”

In 2020, the couple made a heartfelt announcement after losing their son, Jack, at 20 weeks into her pregnancy. Teigen was hospitalized with excessive bleeding before the miscarriage.

That same year, Teigen wrote an essay explaining that doctors had diagnosed her with a partial placental abruption. At the time, she urged people to share their stories and “be kind to those who are pouring their hearts out”.

Teigen’s openness about the stillbirth was praised at the time for showing a common experience and heartbreak.

Legend and Teigen married in 2013.
