‘Andor’ Trailer Reveals Star Wars Present’s Three-Episode Delay and Premiere

The desire to plug every single gap in the Star Wars timeline continues unabated with Andor, the upcoming show streaming on Disney Plus. His first three episodes fall on the 21st of September (instead of the previously proposed date 31 August) but you won’t have to wait that long to look forward to it — a new trailer for the show fell on Monday.

The trailer hints at Cassian Andor’s recruitment into the rebellion against the totalitarian Galactic Empire. The trailer also teases the Imperial backlash against the growing resistance movement and seeing the return of the extremist rebel Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker, who previously played a role in the film Rogue OneCGI series Rebels and a video game Jedi: Fallen Order).

Created by Tony Gilroy, famous for his work on the Bourne films and Michael Clayton, Andor stars Diego Luna back as Andor five years before the events of the beloved Rogue One. The post-impact Star Wars 2016, which is a direct prequel to the Star wars original filmgrossed over $1 billion at the box office.

The 12-episode first season of Andor is said to focus on the formation of the Rebel Alliance. And then we get a second season of 12 episodes that goes straight into Rogue One, Gilroy confirmed to us Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in May.

Andor comes a few months after the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which was true return to form and relevance for the star wars franchise.
